Davos town day without hikes

A Davos calendar day built around the Kirchner Museum, Lake Davos shore and an optional Schatzalp rail ride — explicitly without mountain hike how-tos.

Davos can be a town day without a hiking brief: Kirchner Museum, Lake Davos shore and an optional Schatzalp funicular to the station terrace. Schweiz Tourismus frames Davos in eastern Graubünden as a major alpine holiday and congress destination that hosts the World Economic Forum. Our Graubünden & the Bernina page gives regional context — Davos is not a Bernina core-window substitute.

Stations and museum

Davos Dorf and Davos Platz are the named rail stations. The Kirchner Museum sits on the Promenade between them, with the Expressionist Ernst Ludwig Kirchner collection as the culture anchor. Plan rail legs on sbb.ch; see getting around and optionally day trips from Zurich.

Lake shore and Schatzalp rail

Lake Davos is a shore and view stop — not a water-sports how-to. The Schatzalpbahn climbs to Hotel Schatzalp, an Art Nouveau building with a sun terrace; destination materials also name the Thomas Mann «Magic Mountain» literary link as culture colour. That outing is funicular and station terrace only — no squirrel-trail or sled how-tos on this page.

Questions

Is this a Davos hiking day?

No. This article covers the Kirchner Museum, Lake Davos shore and optional Schatzalp funicular — not side-valley or summit trail how-tos.

Do I need to ski Parsenn for this day?

No. Ski and mountain how-tos are out of scope. Stay with town, museum and optional rail to Schatzalp.

Is Davos the Bernina Express hub?

No. Davos sits in eastern Graubünden on its own RhB approaches. The Bernina window day is a different cluster story.
